How long does it take for a backlink to work?

So how long does it ussually take?

I've build up to 50 backlinks last month but only 1 is visible as a backlink sofar.

If those websites are nofollow then you won't see them. Now all backlinks appeared though. Some may take a while...

If a backlink is from a high pr blogger blog, Google can index it in minutes even. Google is fast I tell you. Low pr wp sites takes longer, as in months even. Forget about sites that are no follow or pr zero.

If the page you backlink on includes your backlink in the Google Cache, then Google knows about your backlink.

Check the pages Cache that you placed a backlink on...

Google takes time to find and index your links. And the higher the pr of the link the more likely it will get indexed faster.

The funny thing is a link might of worked but google doesnt always show it.

It's all page rank 4 and above, dofollow.

Good advice. Just keep building your links, ideally from high PR pages.

It depends on the website and how often they get crawled and whether or not the link is do follow.

If it is a website that does not get crawled often by Google’s search engines, then it can take up to a few weeks before you see the link show up. If the website is not even index in the search engine, then there is a real possibility that it will never show up. That is why it is so important that you chose wisely where you want to focus your efforts when building backlinks for your site. If you practice a little more discretion, then you can be sure that your backlinks will show up within a few days.

Another thing you need to be aware of is that you want your backlinks to appear as natural as possible. That means do not get bunches of backlinks in a small amount of time. Let your backlinks build up gradually, so that it appears natural.

I built a wikia page the other night and pinged it and it was on google within minutes, so they can be very quick.

I was and still am indexed though. I was on page 22 and dropped down over time to page 13. And over that time I did backlinking manually with dofollow links and pagerank 4 and above.

It probably went wrong with a backlink packet, recently I bought a 300 backlinks packet from this forum, I bought a few articles there and had credits left so I spend it on the backlinks. It went gone from google shortly after that.

I'll just keep on building backlinks myself and wait for it to come back.
Luckily it's a site in progress (started begin december) and not something I was earning from yet.

You also have to think of if the page that your link is on is not indexed then that link will not count. This applies to a lot of Social Bookmarking sites if you used them.

It will definitely take time for a backlink to be visible, just continue what you're doing.

It depends on their crawling. When they will be crawled so they will be visible also.

I bought some links from some web directories that were PR 6 but this hasn't seemed to have had any effect on my rankings. I think that because the backlinks are on sub sub folders and pages google maybe doesn't index these very often if at all.

Depends on what backlink you have used if you used a backlink in a forum say about 3 to 5 days but if you used a software that submits backlinks they might never turn up as they are so week or worthless

As soon as you can click on it. Google reevaluates rankings every so often so it wont help your PR of Alex until Google updates!

My experience is that it can take time for the engines to find those links, it really depends on how often the site with your link gets crawled and updated.
