Default Hacking my links

I'm suddenly paranoid about people hacking into my site and putting their affiliate ID in my links. Does this happen & whats the best way to protect against it? Cloaking? site security?

I doubt that happens much.

If your running Wordpress or similar just keep the site updated with the latest install.

sorry its a wordpress site, I just don't know if there is any reason to cloak links other than the fact that they look better. any recommendations for cloak linkers or site security plugins would be appreciated.

Here is a WF forum search with a lot of recent cloaking related threads, might help?

Be careful about WP plugins, if the author doesn't update they sometimes get broken during WP updates.

Here is one way to cloak without plugins:

What is the best way to cloak/hide the Clickbank hop link?

Honestly, I wouldn't be that worried about it.

If someone is capable of getting into your site and altering your links then cloaking them isn't going to do anything in regards to protecting them.

Anyway, the chance of another affiliate hacking your site and adding their links is slim and you should cloak your links because they look better, but not for protection.

If you're really paranoid about it just make sure to go through all of your sites once a month or so and check to see your links are all good.

Check your site security and plugins installed. Nobody cannot change links on your site except through the admin panel. If there is any other way, it is though the plugins and themes you installed.
