So I am on another board, and someone seems to think this is true, in fact a lot of people are saying this. I don't believe it, but I am a skeptic anyway, I post nofollow links because I'm stubborn and I believe a link is a link whether there is irrefutable evidence against that. I'm just a stubborn a-hole the majority of the time. Is there any truth to this whatsoever? If it is not indexing websites, why are some of my new backlinks showing, why are new articles being found in the search engines, how is news updated on pages if no pages are being indexed. Am I wrong to believe this is completely absurd? |

Hi iAmNameLess, Your instincts are correct. If Google wasn't indexing new pages then the new pages on the site I launched last week wouldn't be indexed already. While only four pages are indexed currently on this website, it is fairly typical for Google to only crawl a little bit at a time to prevent an overload of a server. I'm confident they will add more pages this week and continue adding a handful at a time until all pages of the website are indexed. However, technically your thread title asks if Google is indexing websites and they never index websites. They index individual pages which are typically located on websites, the difference may sound subtle but it is the difference between a "website directory" and a "search engine". |

Thank you for your response. Yes, my wording was off but that is what I meant. Thank you for the correction. I just thought it was a bit absurd to say that, I don't know why anyone would think that if they even search for news, current news pops up so obviously google isn't taking a break. I don't get it, do spiders and bots need rest? lol |

I have heard nothing on this but Google thrives for new content and without indexing new sites and pages they can not return the best results they can so why would they stop? Seems like someone had a great idea for some linkbait if you asked me. |

What I have noticed just from December until now that Google seems to be a little slower than usual in updating.. And when I mean updating, I mean everything that goes along with whatever Google does, to "UPDATE"... Otherwise, it seems that Google is still indexing new sites, threads, articles, and so-on in a regular manner. But.... It does seem that they are taking a little longer than usual to recognize new site backlinks, no matter how they are being obtained in your marketing tactics. |

This thread is already cached/indexed. Myth? Google not indexing websites since december 16th? Whatever the other forum is (DP?), I suggest you stop going, sounds like they are followers of some guru product, lol.

I think there was so many sites that had been indexing that's why google is on a slow term duration of processing the updates.

Its not really a myth; there are a extraordinarily high number of sites/pages who are showing a cache date of Dec 16th which is where the myth started. However if you search for a snippet of text on the page that changed after Dec16th, then it is actually indexed. Google are aware of the issue |

There IS a big Google CACHE issue right now, but it is NOT and INDEXING issue. Google's cache is not the same as it's index. Check it for yourself and see if any of your sites have cache from later than 16. December.

So I assume that there is a bit of truth to this though, that it is not creating a cache, and they just took it out of context.

Seriously, a lot of sites seem to have been cached before 16'th of december.I am not saying it's anything wrong, the index is not affected, but there's a lot pointing to some kind of change in caching.

It is only a Myth. first of all, why google would stop indexing sites? without indexing site how could google will be in the business. Secondly, checkout the cached page of any top result in google, you will see the latest date. This means google indexing is still working.

I also think so. I am doing SEO for one of my affiliate site. This site's ranking on some keywords are stable. They are not coming up in SERP. So i also believe that Google stop working. After whatever all says. |

I am not saying google is not indexing. But the google cache has some trouble in the past few weeks. I have seen myself for 3 new domains which are showing as indexed but when i see the cache it is empty. I cross checked with few others who purchased in the past weeks. Their domains also had some issue in empty cache. |

How many times do I have to show you guys proof? What date do you see in the Cache? http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...P8NvLqVfHuco3M If you have a stagnant site (no updates) do you need another cache? I have 13 sites & checked each Index page cache date last night, every single date is from Jan. 2011 One last word on the subject... ---> Nothing is Wrong! <--- |
