Link Bait Magic: Lead and Others Will Follow

Few people think of doing this, but it can work wonders for your link building and traffic generation.

People love Top 10 Lists, Top 50 Lists, and Top 100 lists...

So give them what they want.

Find an angle to describe your website in a top ten type list.

For example, I could do a list of top business chat rooms to promote my Live Marketing Chat website.

In that list of Top 10, Top 50 or Top 100 sites, I could include my own site high in the list.

Once you make your Top 10 List available and build some links for it, people will come into and decide to copy the list to their own website.

I know of one list of the Top 50 article directories. It is the most duplicated Top Article Directories list on the web, which is truly annoying, since it is the most inaccurate piece of drivel I have ever seen.

4 of the top ten sites do not even take articles from the public. One in the top ten is a newsletter and not an article directory. In the full list of 50 "article directories", another half dozen sites have changed their direction and now have sites totally unrelated to their original design.

Yet, people find that list and republish it all the time.

Those 50 sites on that list has an ever-growing list of linking web pages, some of them with really high PageRank, substantial link popularity and lots of traffic.

Just imagine if you could create a Top 10 list that includes your site and that list were to go viral !!!

It's important to take these kinds of tidbits of information, or 'golden nuggets' as the industry calls them, and incorporate them into your daily activities. Don't just do this once, but rather at least once or twice a week if possible.

Definitely agree, link bait articles add great value to your site and they can bring in tonnes of traffic and backlinks. It's natural SEO on steroids and it's great to use!

Great post thanks for sharing, this kind of information could be used for any niche, you could also throw in a couple of affiliate links, cloaked and masked of course!
