WP linkback and Trackback issue

I am using wordpress and I have set option to receive and send incoming and outgoing links to linked WP sites.

I am not getting all incoming links reported as it should, only a rare few comes and rest are not. I have a blog host telling me about they linked to me and sure they have and it is do follow too.

I have problem sending outgoing links to some wp website too. I have asked my theme developer and another web guy and they are not able to find anything.

I know this is not a WP forum but many people are good at WP so I thought I ask here. WP forum did not have any good solution that worked. I am clueless as to how to fix it.

Can someone help?
