A backlink is when you have a link to your website on any other website.
This is the most basic explanation, a hyperlink is generally used on other websites in order to create a backlink this has the best value because the link would be a hyperlinked keyword.

A hyper link is a clickable link that is a keyword: for instance: SEO BOOK = is a hyper link.

A backlink can be just a link that you left in a forum or article author bio.
