I am very new at all of this and am currently working on backlinking and am specifically watching Page Ranks. I might be over thinking this, but my silly question is - are we interested in the main page of the websites' rank or the actual page within the website's rank? As an example, is it the rank of Widget.com that I want to pay attention to OR Widget.com/green-ones where I am posting a comment, that is important? Thank you for all your help! |

As far as I understand, it depends on your keyword. If you type in your desired keyword in Google, and an inside page of a website is up there on the first page, that's a page you're competing with.
