The fastest way to get on Google page 1 for a specific keyword is to use a domain name for that keyword (e.g. a specific product name), and have the front end of the site a static page with the product review on it, but have a blog on it (not set as the front end of the site) which you allow others to post to (by adding it to Free Traffic System). This enables you to have a 1-page site that contains your detailed product review, plus also being seen by Google as a large frequently-updated website (due to the blog which other people post to). Discuss. |

no it isn't. this might help you in Bing more than Google. Google still very much relies on backlinks to add order to the bazillions of websites in it's index. exact match domains are just ONE way to rank, not THE way (because as we all know there is no single way). |

This was based on my recent experience where I compared different approaches, and I created one website with a product name domain, and it seems to show up on page one quite easily, without much backlinking. Presumably, if I did more backlinking like with my other sites, I could probably easily get to the top spot. I think the key to it was not just the domain name, but also opening it up to being posted to by other people, by adding it to Free Traffic System to let other people post their articles to it. This makes all the difference I think, and it far better than just simply creating a 1-page site and leaving it to sit there. |

Sitecrawler, by forum posting, do you mean getting backlings by posting in forums, or do you mean installing a message board on your site?

You can reach google page 1 in less then 24 hours after being indexed for orange-six-eyes-elephant.com ![]() but if page 1 is dominated with large authority sites, and the keywords you try to rank for are competitive, then you may have a really hard time to reach page 1 (if it happens at all). | |

frequency of updates have very little weight on Google...they have openly admitted this... reason being is some of the best/most relevant content that will give the Google user a good experience might be a static site with a bit of content.. Robbeh |

It's not the quantity of links, but quality.

Anyone can claim that their methods are the most effective way to get google on page 1 but I must say that it will depends on the relativity of the site and its competition in the industry.

The only problem I can think of with this method, is that product name domains can get you into trouble. This is what some people on here have said, from searching through other threads. It's such a shame really, because it seems to work.

You're right, but not enough for keywords with high competition. You need to do first well in on-page SEO. Then work on the backlink building. The anchor text of the backlink is the core. |

Your idea is great. If it really works then it will save lots of time, money and efforts.Actually getting top position for a medium competitive keyword is not that much difficult as we thought. Some quality high pr backlinks can help yo to get that easily.

I tend to agree with the OP. The way I do it is to have a static front page, and support it with a blog and a forum. The blog gives the impression of an updated site, and the forum helps get links. Link spammers search for vbullettin forums, and spam the heck out of it. I allow this, as they would try to make their backlinks get indexed by pinging etc., and this indirectly helps my site in the form of links. After I see sufficient links built with this, I go to the forum and delete all the spam posts. This way, I retain the links, which are still worth something. |

I would be carefull though about using company product names in the domain name of a site. You have to watch copyright issues and whether or not your voiding any of them. And if you do void any copyright "rules" then you could run the risk of getting into trouble with the company or get your site shut down.

Personally I like the rss method, because that way I can keep the content relevant to my sites. A great free WP plugin for posting rss feeds as blog posts is wpematico. It even offers a rewrite feature.
