Getting Backlinks to Pages with Permalinks?

Hi All, I've made January my month for asking questions, 10 days or so left and then 11 months of action.

I just wanted to check something, I have used permalinks on my site [/%postname%] so that the url makes sense to the visitor rather than http://www.mydomain/%ueur7hawh£%%% etc

So if an inner page has a url of: http://www.mydomain/category/product/
when backlinking do I reference this url or do I have to find the original url as in the paragraph above.

You reference that exact url. And it should appear when you edit the page/post.

Thanks but when I edit the post the url shown is:
'http://www.mydomain.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=213&action=edit'
I presuming you don't mean this url?
