I used these once and got burned. mostly from being new to it and not educated enough. Blew almost 400 bucks in a day. I'll never forget it. Ever. Never touched it since. Been trying seo, etc. Are ppc ads still worth it?

Yes, but you must have highly targetted ads, in tight groups/themes, split test them, keep track of your budget, make the most of the features like geotargetting etc. Start with lots of ad groups and ad types and whittle it down to the best converting ones

| I agree with Leanne ,PPC is an expensive way to generate traffic therefore your content should be to the point.

Definitely worth it as you can turn on the traffic faster than SEO. ROI can be as high as 100%. That said, do get yourself educated before throwing money in. When I test a new campaign, I usually set $10 a day before scaling it up to $100 a day. Also, must read Adwords TOS as they are getting very strict these days with the kind of sites that they will accept. If not careful, it is possible to get life ban with no warning. |

yes definitely ppc has always worked. You probably didn't set the correct the daily budget or maybe targeting too many broad keywords and bidding too high. I would recommend you either complete a course or research ppc bidding online before giving it another go. It definitely does work and gets very targeted traffic |

I sorry you had such a bad first experience with PPC. However, if you are like most folks, you likely "blew" much more on your path towards learning and implementing SEO tactics. The main difference is that with PPC you were able to quantify and make adjustments the same day, but with SEO, folks tend to waste their valuable time and money on tactics that are worthless and they continue down that path for months, sometimes even years before they realize just how much they've wasted. You have to admit, there is some comfort in knowing immediately that what you are doing is not working, so that you can make adjustments. If you truly want success in PPC then you must find a way to learn from mistakes, regroup and continue. PPC is just a way to get there much quicker than SEO. Once you have the data from your PPC campaign you can use that information to plan an effective SEO campaign based on keywords and landers that are proven to convert. The bottom line is that PPC can be very profitable when combined with a good offer. You can lose just as much, or even more, in your SEO efforts, it's just much easier to measure accurately the ROI of keywords and landing pages with PPC than it will ever be with SEO. I see so many people that toil needlessly in worthless SEO tactics all they while they are oblivious to true cost. | |

Spend money to make money. The thing with PPC is that often times you won't see real results from your advertising until a couple of weeks after you get the message out there. Same goes with any sort of advertising. So trying it for one day and then giving up really isn't giving it a good enough shot. $400 in one day, what were you tihnking? |
