Is It Advisable to Remove Web Pages From Web Site?

I have an eCommerce website. On my web site there are many category pages without products.

So, is it advisable to remove that web pages from web site?

All pages were indexed by Google & links are available on home page in drop down navigation, left navigation & footer.

So, Will it create any bad effect on my current organic performance?

Google does take into concideration the other pages of your website but if there is no content on them it is safe to say that your other pages won't be harmed if you delete the empty pages.

Just remember to create more pages and fill them, backlink them, and watch the rankings rise.

it is not adviceable to remove that pages because some where your website is ranked by those pages. if they have good PR then your home page must connect with those pr. you will loose your PR or position in search engine by removing those pages.

Since the empty pages have been indexed and are showing up on the Google index, a time will come in future when you may fill those product pages.

There are two ways to look at it. If these empty product pages have been around for a while, they are mature even though they are empty and you can put a rel=canonical tag on them pointing to the category page above them which I presume is a standard page with content.

Else, you can delete them from the Google index using Webmasters console.

It is a decision you have to make based on what you are going to do with your site in future

I approve that. Do not remove these pages. If we remove them, by chance, we will loose your PR. Removing these pages is a bad solution.
