I use Rank Tracker, the paid version, from Link-Assistant.com I just picked it up. I find it faster and better than Market Samurai or that plugin for firefox. But one thing I cna't figure out -- is: Can it show ranking subpages? Or just raw domains? If it doesn't show ranking subpages, that is really frustrating. As I want to rank pages for specific terms, not not all on my raw domain. Any thoughts? Also, how accurate is it? |

I have only been using it for two weeks, but I can offer this: I have one project I set up, and when prompted for the domain to track I put in just the main URL. For the keywords I'm tracking for this project, ranktracker shows where I rank and which landing page on the site has that ranking. I have another project I set up, and for this one I put in just a particular page on a competitor site (not the main URL). For those keywords, ranktracker shows where that page ranks. Patey |

Ok so you're saying if you have a dog food site, and you're ranking Organic Dog Chow, and you have dogfoodsite.com/organic_dog_chow.html , and it is outranking your raw domain, it will show that page as ranking?

Yes. I launch the app and it opens on the Keyword tab. I create a new project and enter a site URL. I select search engines. I enter some keywords. I let it check to see where the site ranks for each keyword. When it finishes, I switch to the Report tab. Here, I can view a summary rankings report, or see detailed reports By Search Engine, By Keyword, By KEI, or Historical Data. Let's say I view By Keyword. I see a long list showing each keyword, and for each it shows where I rank in each search engine; how my ranking has changed since last time; and the "URL Found" which is the URL of the page on my site that is actually ranking. I believe that for each keyword, it is showing the page on the site that ranks the highest for that keyword. |

Yes yes I see it now. Thanks for your help. Do you know if there are any training videos for these?

You're very welcome. I do not know about training videos at all; I haven't looked for any. I will say this: I have discovered the program to be very useful for keyword research. I have been making projects using any old niche site, and entering some "seed" keywords, and then clicking the suggest button. I try different research methods like Google AutoComplete, Keyword Tool, and Search-Based Keyword tool. When you do this you have to remember to click Finish instead of Next, so you don't waste time gathering rankings when your goal is really to do keyword research. And you have to select all, so it has something to base the suggestions on. I go back later and run the KEI update, after I've gathered a really big list of keywords. Patey88 |
