Hello All, I've got the biggest screw up in newbie history! I built a site with wordpress, and just screwing around got #8-9 spot on Google for the search term. I screwed up the code, and had to re install wordpress on my server and rebuild the site. The problem is now the original site and url gets the 404 site not found? The new site has the same url, and I pinged and re submitted, but now over a month it still gives the 404 site not found. Now heres the kicker, using an indexer software, just today, the site is now #1 spot for the search term, but 404 site not found??? You can how ever click the home and about etc. tabs and the new pages load???. But when you click on the link in Google search it goes to the original web page, even though the new page has the same original url Can anyone familiar with wordpress tell me how I may fix this, Im rather a newbie, and not fully wp functional. Any Help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Frank |

Figure out what URL Google is sending people to, and then create a permanent redirect in your cPanel control panel to redirect from the old page to the new page.
