This has already been posted in the forums, just thought I would comment about this Wordpress seo plugin. WordPress › SEO SearchTerms Tagging 2 « WordPress Plugins This plugin will take the exact keyword phrase that was used to find any page on your WP site, then add that keyword phrase to the exact page the (Google) searcher landed on. I've been testing for about a month, & I'm not the type of person to use WP plugins just because they exist, in fact I don't like plugins because they have the chance to break after any WP core updates, but this one is a keeper. Options: 1) Bad word filter 2) 500 max keyword phrase page, that displays all the keyword results [EDIT] Max 2,500 see post #72 3) Option to remove any keyword phrase that was posted to your site already by the plugin (undo button ).4) Has a few more options It's all automatic once it's setup, maybe check the keywords once a week/month.

What makes this plugin cool is, it collects all the long-tail search phrases & most include keywords that I never thought about & don't already exist on my page before they searched Google & landed on my page. Example, say my page title is "Fast Cars", the searcher might be searching for "Really Fast Red Cars" Now the keywords "Really" & "Fast" will be included in the new long-tail & added to that same page, without me ever having to update the page. This can cause a snowball effect of very similar new long-tail keywords. The next guy that does the search & lands on that page might be searching for "Fast Red Cars in Texas", now it adds that keyword string to my page, & keeps growing, & growing, ... I imagine after about a year of running this plugin, I'll have a way stronger position in the SERPs for my entire site. |

Wow, that is very cool indeed. Does it just create a list at the bottom of the page? Would this look a bit suspect to the big G? |

![]() The plugin lets you pick what you want to do with the keyword phrase after the searcher lands on your page from Google, add the keyword phrase to your page as simple text/content (that's what I do) or as a new Wordpress Tag. It also has a few extra options I havn't tested yet. It's really a nice WP plugin.

Thanks for the heads up, will try this on one of my blogs and report back! The problem is - I've structured my blog differently. Each post is a summary, which links back to its own page. (Strange, but it works very well). If there is the option to add search queries to actual pages, I can see it working well! I'd rather not clutter the homepage with additional KWs. Edit - Just tried it and searched for a page on google, and clicked through. It has indeed added the search query to the bottom of the page! I will experiment with the settings and see what it can do |

You can also use it to collect all the new long-tail keywords & do whatever you want with them (new articles, pages, content, etc...). Or, update old articles with the exact phrase that landed on your page, it only takes another sentence on a page to make it not stand out.

Tweak the setting to what you like, then keep an eye on the search term/stats in the plugin for about a month, I think you'll be surprised at the amount of new keywords that land on your pages, especially an already very active site/page.

Here is what would make this perfect, have it work with All in one SEO pack since their is a keyword spot there. This way it just adds the keyword in there so its not shown in the posts as content.

I am not sure if i like the thought of content being altered, i am extremely paranoid i would lose rankings if some plugin would actively change anything in content? But the idea of adding a tag is interesting. I think this might be worth checking out and to see what it really does. |

| No, it doesn't change anything in the meta tags, it's all on-page content. I suppose you could use the php code that I posted above to add those search terms to Meta Keyword/Description Tags If you wanted. I'll test that now & see If it works on my blog... |

Ok, I have the plugin adding the search terms to the Meta Description & Keyword Tags, works good. Needs a couple of tweaks to get it working: 1) Change this setting to Text and code before and after each keyword: Before = (blank box) After = (a single comma then a blank space) this will seperate each keyword term with a trailing comma + blank space. 2) You need to edit one line of php code (very easy). Find this line inside the plugin file (searchterms-tagging-2/searchterms-tagging2.php): A) define('PK_WATERMARK','<!-- YourDomainNameHere.com -->'); Delete <!-- YourDomainNameHere.com --> (which will be your own domain name), MAKE SURE to leave the single quotes on both sides of the URL. Settings ![]() PHP CODE EDIT ![]() |

| You could customize more If needed, example meta tag in the header.php: <meta name="description" content="This is my description for this page. <?php if(function_exists('stt_terms_list')) echo stt_terms_list() ;?>" /> Inside your html source code it would look like this: <meta name="description" content="This is my description for this page. search term 1, search term 2, search term3" /> |

| Dammit Yukon! I've just been busting my a$$ for nothing! I guess I should have read everything about this plugin before I started clicking on option !I added the plugin and edited a new theme to put on the blog right around the same time... I thought I was losing my mind. Ripping and replacing code so that the MOST RECENT POST I ADDED to show up FIRST... You know Most recent to oldest... But it wasn't showing up that way?!? Why? B/c I left the damn check box "checked" yes where it says: Quote:

![]() I havn't tested that option yet (re-post) on the site I'm running this plugin. I like the idea, I just think it needs to be handled in another way. I don't want old content to stay on my Index page all the time that would suck, & my repeat traffic would be all confused thinking I never update the site, when all the new content is buried. Like I said I like the idea of flushing out stagnant pages & get them in front of my traffic, I just don't think the entire Index page is the way to go. It might be good to have a single block in the Index page sidebar that rotates old pages one at a time in a random order. That way they still get Index page exposure but they are in the sidebar & don't take over the entire page.

Does it automatically change the content. Then should we have to compromise on the logic of the sentences?? Or does it just changes the wordpress tags?

Another update on this plugin, I'm still getting a lot great long-tails from the search engines added to my site as plain text. I wouldn't call this specific keyword great, still without giving away my good keywords I'll share what I've found in my plugin admin. My site has a page title that is: 1) "Garage Sale keyword1 keyword2 keyword3" The Google search that landed the searcher on my page was: 2) "free keyword2 keyword3 rummage sale" When I check Google I'm #5 for this keyword search "free keyword2 keyword3 rummage sale". Since the new keyword "rummage" is added to my page as new text, I think this will improve my search position If the keyword "rummage" plus any of my target keywords are used in any future search. The reason I think this will boost my ranking for that keyword is, the other 4 sites in the SERPs for that long-tail search don't even have that word on their pages (just like I didn't before the search happend). This word "rummage" is related a little bit to one of my target keywords. It will be interesting to do this same search that landed on my page in about a month or so, just to see If it changes my SERP ranking. ![]() [running Chrome Incognito for the search] |

I never have to edit the page myself. I do keep an eye on the plugin Admin panel, just to monitor what's going on & filter any new words I don't want to show on my pages. I found two words I didn't want on my site today, it wasn't anything bad, I just didn't want my site to show for those two words + my keywords. I re-worked a couple of my sites keywords & the old keywords were still popping up in the plugin, so I filtered them out & deleted any existing words from the plugin. It's kinda cool when deleting a word that the plugin already posted. You do a search from inside the plugin Admin for the keyword already on your site (that the plugin posted). When the search is done, it deletes that keyword from every single page on your site.

| I like it. ![]() Play around with the settings, it has a few options. I set mine as plain text only (no hyperlinks, tags) & it works good. The new text shows at the bottom of my blog post. I added an <h3> tag above the location of the new text, that says "Related Search Terms", just so the text doesn't look out of place. |

I'm testing this with one of my test blogs and it doesn't re-write the article. It just posts terms at the bottom of the page. It doesn't work with Egghead's SEO Pager. I like SEO pager, but find it's a very resource consuming plugin. |

Thanks for the link Yukon, bookmarked to check it out later today. My SEO! plugin users might be interested in this. Definitely looks interesting. Can you confirm if it runs on the public side of the site or is its footprint contained to the admin area? If the latter, much better. |

This plugin does leave a small footprint & can be searched on the main search engines to reveal sites running this plugin. I always try to remove any footprint from both WP themes & plugins, I strongly recommend anyone running this plugin to at the very least remove the footprint & tweak the settings so they are not running the exact same default settings as thousands of other sites. When I first setup my seo plugin this is the tutorial I followed, this is not my site. (replace hxxp with http) hxxp://www.thenichestorebuilder.com/seo-searchterms-tagging-2-footprint-removal.htm [note] Remember If you tweak the plugin footprint (code), any new plugin versions will have to also be changed. Unless the developer of the plugin comes up with something really great I'll stick with this plugin version.

These plugins are also great for doing keyword research - especially when they leave a footprint. ![]() Find a popular site that uses this and similar plugins and then check their 'recent/popular searches' list for some great ideas. A lot of the shopping comparison sites use similar features to what this plugin offers. |
