Have anybody got their newsletter? "Unoriginal Content Did you know that sites using software to generate automated information or otherwise unoriginal content is a serious violation of our policies? Read our webmaster quality guidelines, and if you find violating sites within our network, feel free to report them to us." I guess autoblogs..scrapers etc...need to be careful on your content... |

Debated before from their blog. The main concept is "value" and "uniqueness." Google supplies its own stuff for users to scrape, as Yukon points out. Now, what constitutes junk? As opposed to value? Not being a member of the autoblog kingdom, I don't know. I assume google could go looking for anyone anywhere they choose. Bottom line, be very careful what you do with content that is not generated by you. People can take that to mean whatever they want, but google seems to be not in a gray area mood. Just because someone big gets away with it, or your Uncle Joe has been autoblogging for years, well,... I personally do not believe they are referring to all autoblogs. BUT...would they be within their rights to shut down any they choose? They make the rules. Even blogger lets you add rss feeds from other blogs very, very easily. Paul |
