Hi. Quick question. One of my business sites is a PR4. Very well-respected and good traffic. I still write articles, use social media and directories etc... But I was wondering if I should be avoiding getting a link from any site that has a PR LOWER than mine? I realize that the PR is very subjective and sometimes doesn't mean a whole lot. Just curious to hear responses from those of you that are experienced and have an opinion. Thanks. |

That being said, no don't avoid it. If the page is pertinent and relevant to your page, have them link to you. Have them use keywords in the anchor text if at all possible. In reality though, folks need to jump off the page rank wagon for awhile. | |

Agreed. As what I have observe most of the people rely on page rank and i think its less important just focus on the related sites that you link for, Quality must be your key and Its worth it.

OK. I was mainly referring to directory submission and social bookmarking to sites that are PR2 and PR3.

I really don't think PR is quite as important as it was once thought to be. I think the content is the most important and linking to more relevant sites. I think Google might even be doing away with PR in the near future. Drip Feed Blasts is a site you might want to look at.

That link on a pr 0/1 might one day turn into a pr 5, so don't avoid getting links out there on lesser valued pr pages. Over time pages can go up in value, especially from sites like ezine, warrior forum, digg etc...

LOL!!!! Do you think wikipedia tells people not to backlink? Amazon? Craigslist? You have no control over who links to you Paul |

Yes. In fact, I went to school there (Miami). Great town. Great University. Great hockey team. I could go on and on... How do you know Oxford? |

Traffic is everything in Internet marketing. And getting traffic from search engine back ling is very important. Make backlinks with relevant sites. If that site have a PR lower than you is not a matter to be worried. It do not effect bad to you. It is always good for you. You will receive traffic from them. And after sometimes they may have good PR, even better than you. |

You can get link from low pr sites if that site is related to your niche. But reciprocal linking with low pr site is not recommended.

Take as many links as you can from the web-that won't hurt! But avoid linking to any bad neighborhood from your site.

If you will add link to other site which lower PR as compare to your link page, your PR will be shared with lower site. PR is very important factor for a web page and it hard to gain. So don't give back link to lower PR web pages. Consider web pages for link exchange which has PR as equal or greater than your web page. |
