does google favour blogspot?

Does google favour blog spot at all over say a wordpress or Joomla site
or does it make a difference

No, I seriously doubt it - there is so much junk on Blogspot. I doubt Google regards it any differently to other blogs. There IS a possibility new things get indexed a bit quicker if there is some sort of internal notification going on. But I tried to make one-page Blogspot blogs just for backlinking purposes a few years ago and they NEVER got indexed, to this day.

Many people think about it because blogspot is google product. but I personally believe that its not like that. but its seems like that, because blogspot template is search engine friendly then others template.

They still work, trust me. Just depends on how you use them.

Blogspot is a great blog platform. It's very powerful.
Above all for news it's very good.
I've had great results with blogger.
A day I had 10k visitors for one article.
It's fast, crawled very frequently and simple to use.

However, Google could close it and you lose everything (spam).
The fact is that its automatic anti-spam tools could make some false positives.

It's not about Google SERP at all, it's all about how blogspot structures it's internal links.

Blogspot used to combine all the links from another blogspot as your own blogspots internal links.

So If I had a site with 50 pages, & someone with 100 pages posted my blogspot link on their own blog (blogroll), I got credit for 150 internal links/pages.

I just checked one of my old blogspot inside GWT (Google Webmaster Tools) now it doesn't show all those extra links as internal links like it did about 6 months ago. Blogspot or GWT must have changed something.

I know what I said above is true, because I checked several of my own blogspots (not just one site) & they always showed extra links inside my GWT internal links page that didn't belong to my site.

GWT didn't show anything like this for my WP sites, so it had to be a blogspot issue

What's funny is, I posted this blogspot flaw a few months back here on Warrior Forum, now it doesn't work. I don't want to sound paranoid, but Google might be watching this forum, lol.

My impression is Wordpress (.org you mean, right) might actually be better for Google-love since blogs are more strictly patrolled, they don't allow spam or commercial stuff on there, whereas Blogspot has much more spam and junk on.

Blogspot in my experience is useful if you post regularly and people actually visit your content and bookmark your blog. If your going to provide quality then google will favour any blog blogger or wordpress but like I said their alogriths are getting very very smart nowadays.

I think It depends on how relevant the content is on that particular blog. I do not believe Google gives favor in blogspot.
