I don't usually pay much attention to the PR of my own sites, but I was just wondering if anyone happens to know the main factors that influence it and cause it to increase; 2 of my niche sites just went from PR0 to PR2 and 1 to PR3.

It should be 99.99% backlinks, but there must be a little more to it. I am one who believes PR not only comes from "backlinks," but the quality of those backlinks, and your authority. I have inner pages that have high PR with no linking but internal. Google does not tell everything. I do think it's possible to get indexed, build no backlinks, and have your PR increased, just by others linking, age, authority, etc. I get high PR by only building small amounts (compared to others) of backlinks, but concentrate on high PR, authority, and relevance. People here will complain all the time about building massive backlinks and gaining no PR. So it can't be sheer numbers of backlinks. Paul |
