I know Google's keyword tool is far from accurate. Let's say I want to know how much traffic I'd get if I ranked competitively in Google for "New York Lawyer". The Google Keyword Tool (using exact match) tells us that "New York Lawyer" gets 500 searches a month. I then run a campaign on Google Adwords for the keyword "New York Lawyer" and see that that ad for that particular keyword is getting 200 impressions per day. This means that the keyword can generate about 6000 searches a month and that the keyword tool is very very wrong. Am I right on this? Or did I miss something? |

I believe in a campaign there is a more broad range for which it would appear on. I may be wrong though, will be checking back here to see what other people say!

If you had read any of the number of existing threads complaining about the weird #'s in the keyword tool, you'll know why the #'s don't match.
