It depends on how competitive your keywords are. Have you done proper research? Use tools like Market Samurai and Google Keyword tool to select keywords

it is indexed, but doesn't appear on the search results, as far i have checked.. is there any tool you can check what position your site is for a specific keyword???

Your site is indexed in Google.

Your site is indexed in Yahoo.

Type your url into google. That is a quick way to see if it lists you.

If you are listed then you will most likely need to do some SEO to your pages to get it better ranked.

I have thousands of links and not ranked. My niche is highly competitive though so it is normal.

You may have targeted a very competitive niche or keyword. That is your problem. Keep building.

Have you done much keyword research, Zebix? (I'm just wondering - without knowing what it is - whether you might perhaps be better off trying to rank for some less competitive keywords in the short-term, while continuing the progress toward ranking for whatever you're trying to rank for now?).

Don't be discouraged Zebix. It's normal that it's kinda harder to rank high for some highly competitive keywords. Keep on adding on-page optimized content as well as building high quality backlinks. You can use Power Suite Rank Tracker (free tool) to check your search results position for your target keywords.
