Video Marketing business is growing and thousands of videos are uploaded everyday. I would like to share a few tips while creating and uploading video on Youtube and other video hosting sites: 1. Title: Video title is a key part of your video mainly for the reason that when people are browsing around and they see an eye catching Title, they click on it and your video gets an extra view. When you are choosing a Title for your video, add words like, EXCLUSIVE or Leaked Vid oo Or Shocking. Your title should attract viewers. However, equally important is to include your main keyword in the Title. 2. Description of the video should either start with your main keyword or url of webpage where you want people to go after viewing video. Try to give a brief description of what your video is about in not be more than 5-6 lines. Include your main keyword one more time with your webpage link. 3. Filename: While naming your video file, use your main keyword. If your keyword is video marketing training, then name your video as video-marketing-training.wmv rather than video1.wmv or whichever format you use. 4. Thumbnail plays a very important role in getting views. People decide whether to watch the video or not depending upon Title and Thumbnail. Make it as attractive as possible. Try to get your best image as thumbnail. 5. Tags are your keywords. Include as many tags as you want in the list separated by comma. The tags are the keywords your videos relate to. When someone searches something and if any of the words they searched are in your video keywords then your video will show up in the search! 6. Keyword “video”. Many people add the word “video” to their search phrase. Make sure to add the word “video” to your title, description and tags. 7. Links and backlinks: Just like your webpages, you should try to get as many links as possible with your videos too. Use your main keyword as anchor text for these links. Ping the url, submit it to social bookmarking sites, etc. 8. Last frame. Make your last frame very impressive. Make it visible for more time so that viewers can get the message you want to convey. Hope this helps someone. |

Thanks for the tips! FYI the file name trick also works with images on your website to get closer to the first page of google images for your keyword. |

Getting the perfect thumbnail to represent your video isn't easy. I've been told that YouTube picks the spot exactly halfway through your video to create the thumbnail image, but this hasn't been true with many of my videos. Any tips on this? You're right, having a great thumbnail is crucial.

Giani, Thank you for this impressive list of Youtube tips. I would never have thought to add the keyword "video" to my keyword lists. I wonder if "online" would be a good keyword as well. Seems like it should be obvious... It's Youtube, of course it's online video! ![]() I'd like to add a couple more tips:
Thanks again, -Anita |

Hey, Joelawrence22, why do you and finleyjohn90, johnsonwilis2, and aaronsingh62 all have signatures promoting the same site? Are they friends of yours, or do you feel the need to post under multiple usernames?

A few more tips: Always share your video on your Facebook account. If it is any good, your friends (the ones who really are your friends) will share it out further. Also: Uploading in HD may or may not be a good idea. If you are not a partner, there are file size limitations as well as runtime limitations. If you shoot in 1080p, you will hit the file size limits pretty quick. It may not be so bad in 720p. HD is also not a good idea if you want or anticipate a lot of views from places outside North America and Europe. Remember if you want to view an HD video without it constantly pausing and buffering, you need a high speed web connection and a computer (or device) with a fast processor and a lot of RAM. There is nothing worse than not getting your point across because the viewer got tired of waiting for the video to load and clicked away to watch something else. |

I understand they choose the image at 25%, 50% and 75% of total video time as three thumbnail options. I always aim for 50%. Try that.

I find that if you do a google search for site:youtube.com "allow comments" "targeted keywrod" or something similar will find you lots of other channels with high PR that you can become friends with which will mean that they will link to you. This works well assuming your PR is lower than theirs.

How important is the equipment used to produce the video? For example, the only video camera I own is my cellphone (shoots HD), would it be wise to invest in a webcam or some other camera?

Hey doorkicker, you're fine with what you have. The important thing is the value of the information you are passing. However, it is a good investment to get a decent camera if you think you need one. The point is to focus on the message and optimize your videos to it's maximum and enjoy the views (pun intended). |

Remember to be successful you must upload content on a regular basis. Don’t forget that the more videos you create, the more chances you will have to attract new visitors and increase your online reputation.
