I'm targeting one of our corporate websites (http://www.pegasusaccountssoftware.co.uk) for a very high search volumed keyword ("Accounts Software") - we're only targeting locally and we have a local search volume of 49,500 - we've been on page 1 for quite a while now and I've noticed over the past few months that we seem to stick at 9 for a while, then we slowly creap up to no higher than 4, then back down to 9 or 10 (then the process repeats) - I do regular link building for the page and I personally think the website is well optimised for it's keyword (but I'll let you be the judge of that) - can anyone recommend anything else that could maybe push this ranking and stop the ups and downs?

I would Suggest : Keep on building links... Try to build high Pr backlinks as well as try to get links from different sources like Articles,blogs,forums And Guest postings...

You may also need to add more optimized Content on the Page... Just me 2 cents..

Video Marketing is picking up. Try to create good videos and build links pointing to videos.

How many places are you linking from when building backlinks?

One strategy I use is to select a series of about 10 blogs and start posting to them on a regular basis. Each of the blogs are on a different system.

1. WordPress
2. Blogger
3. BraveNet [Very valuable]
4. USA News

You don't need to post every day but rather set the blogs up on a 2 week rotation where you post to one each day.

Some on page seo tips

1. Change the title to "Accounts Software Pegasus - HBP Group"
2.link http : // www dot pegasusaccountssoftware dot co dot uk/ with anchor text "Accounts Software" at the bottom of the page
3. use alt tag for any one image with keyword "Accounts Software"
4. add 2 or 3 more keywords in "keyword" tag (to reduce keyword density)
