1) basics of SEO - you have to do some on-page AND off-page SEO. Some say off-page is 75% of the battle... others say its more like 50%. Just google these terms, you'll learn a lot. Every time I had a question like that, I just googled it and found tons and tons of information. On-page SEO: do things like include your keyword in the title of your webpage and in your URL and at least once somewhere on your page. Don't overdo it though because you might accidently be keyword-stuffing and you could get penalized by the big G for that. I think having the keyword in the title is one of the most important on-page factors. Look up more factors on google. Off-page: One of the most important things you can do is link building. Get tons and tons of backlinks to the webpage you are trying to optimize and use your keyword as the anchor text. 2)Directory submissions - a lot of people say it's mostly a waste of your time. The only places that are worth submitting to are places like DMOZ(google it). It may be difficult to get a listing in there though but you can do it. 3)I think every forum has different rules when it comes to signatures so make sure you read up on each forum's rules and also I don't know whether or not you can get sandboxed for over-using a signature in forums 4) The places I start to send my articles to are Ezinearticles.com, then Goarticles.com, and finally article(s?)dashboard.com(i forget if it has an s or not)... The reason behind this is that you get some good backlinks that help you in the search engine results. Others recommend you send your article to as many places as you can using software like Brad Callen's article submitter(it's free) 5) I think it should be fine... but I'm not entirely sure... hope this helps! Good luck! |

One of the major foundation of SEO is making your content unique. Focus on this one and you'll have a great advantage specially in writing an article. Submitting articles to some good article submission sites are good, but if your article's content is not unique and relevant, your article is useless. I suggest you to focus first on this one. |
