As far as I understand if you create an RSS feed of your site, and make sure that you update it frequently you will be updating your RSS feed as well and it makes your site more visible to Google. Make sure you keep updating the content though for best results. Chris |

Your RSS feed is important for two reasons. First, it allows people to subscribe to it, which improves the odds that you will get more repeat visitors. Second, it will give you backlinks when you submit your RSS feed to RSS directories. Third, it gives your articles a chance to be picked up by other sites. There are other benefits as well, but those are some of the most commonly noted ones. |

I would think the biggest benefit would be traffic coming to your site from you rss feed. Obviously only if that site has traffic to begin with.

RSS feeds are easy for spiders ( search engines etc ) to find and read properly. Not only are they one tool to stay in contact with visitors that access RSS but they are helpful and getting content into the search engines fast + getting some backlinks ( I will not say those backlinks will be weighted heavy ) but I never met a backlink I didn't like. I hope that helps along with some of the other good posts above.
