Do any of you know how to define the first Adsense ad unit in the html code of a WordPress website? Please tell me how I could have my programmer do this, because I am not sure how this should be done. And by the way, my site uses DIV tag positioning. I read that it's very important to make sure that the Ad unit that gets the most clicks to appear first in the code of a web page.

It depends on where in your web page you want that first block of adsense code to appear - i.e. header? or at the top of the post?. For many people it's the top of the post and actually as long as you had backed up your theme, you could give this a go yourself. You can post adsense code into your Wordpress theme by going to your Admin dashboard on going to Appearance >> Editor and then clicking on the relevant file. In the case of the theme I am using it is a file called single.php. I pasted my code after a div called "entry" in my theme and it then appears at the top of the post. I hope this helps. |
