Default Help: Is article spinning and mass submission software worth it?

Saludos fellow warriors! I shall convoke your collective advice... please.

For quite some time I’ve been pondering about the use of article spinners and mass-submission software to “boost-up” one’s article marketing efforts, and I’d really want to know what you guys think about this debated topic. I’ll explain my situation:

I wrote an 800+ words article from scratch for ezinearticles exclusively. It is grammatically correct, informative and unique. I submit it and eventually it gets accepted. Once my article is live, I decide to open SpinProfit, put my original article in there, and start with the whole “put braces, bars, and synonyms or different phrases process thingy” in the title, the body and the resource box. Then I spin for 25 copies, and then go through a list of 22 article directories, register for each one of them, and take one spun copy of my “seed” article and submit it manually to each directory, tweaking/deleting/adding text and links where necessary.

Maybe worth mentioning is that aside of the Squidoo lens’ link I’m promoting on each bio box, I also tried to apply a “trick” wherever I could (if I had enough space in the bio box), which consists on linking back to my original article at ezinearticles in order to give it a ranking boost.

Today I was done adding to 15 directories. So far, ArticlesBase, ArticlePool and GoArticles accepted my submissions, while ArticleToGo and StreetArticles rejected them because of duplicate content. This is probably because I didn’t spin paragraphs or sentences; just words or maximum 4 word phrases, and using too many “two-words/phrases-brackets-thingies” like these:
[face sooner or later|eventually face]
[remember|recall]

Now, my questions is: According to your experience which one of these would be truly the most effective:

1. Submit your original article to ezinearticles. That’s it; no spinning - no problem.

2. Spin 5-10 copies of your original article using a simple free tool (like SpinProfit or JetSpinner) and submit the 5-10 spun copies to the TOP 5-10 article directories on the web.

3. Use an advanced spinning tool like TheBestSpinner to create hundreds of spun versions of your original article, all 50%+ unique according to this tool, and mass-submit them using article submission software, assigning each unique article to a unique article directory.

SO... on one side, common sense would tell me that mass submission gives me the most exposure and backlinks, as long as all articles are accepted as unique in each directory, and not penalized by almighty Google; however, on the other side, I’ve come to notice that most of these directories use no-follow tags in the bio boxes (so no backlink power) and I’ve also read that a lot of those hundreds of “bulk” directories are really crappy sites you don’t want to put your content into.

Even in my confusion, I decided to go the middle way and submit spun copies of my article to 25 article directories manually... and screwed up on two sites because of not doing a more in-depth spinning... and not all the copies of my article have been reviewed yet!

So... which method you know/believe is better for article marketing? Just ezine, top 10 or mass submission?

Thanks for reading, and for any comment in advance!

I have submitted a spinned article to various article directories without any problems (Of course for my clients), they key here is not to use a software which is available commonly for reasons which are obvious.

P.S. - I have spun 1 seed article 1500 times, 90% unique and readable

These results are outstanding. Even though I am using Article Demon and spinning much less articles I am not able to get more than 40% unique. I checked few of my articles in Copyscape and they did not pass. How are you able to achieve these results?

I dont use both. I only use the top article directories around and for me that is Ezine, Goarticles, ArticleDashboard. I outsource the rewriting part because I just cant trust any software with content management and I also let my people do the submissions.

Hi there,

Personally I have never used either but I think it depends on what your aim is.

If you are planning to just chuck as much 'stuff' out there as possible to get some afilliate sales and at the risk of getting rejected by some directories then it might be worth a try. I have read some pretty impressive reviews for Article Samurai so If you are going to go down this road then that might be a good one to consider.

However, I have read numerous articles from directories, inclusing Ezine Articles who claim to be so strict about the quality of their content, where the article has obviously been spun so many times, its fulll of spelling mistakes, just doesn't make any sense, and uses words that NOBODY would use in a general conversation.

For me , this would completely put me off clicking through. People relate to other people and would much prefer to read an article from a real person, warts and all, and not something that looks like it has been written by a robot.

If you are wanting to build a list/good reputation then maybe it would be best to write your own articles and just submit them to say 5 of the best directories rather than mass submissions.

I'm not saying that they don't work for some people and I'm sure many find them very useful, but for my purposes I steer clear.

Kind regards

Hi,

Better for article marketing? Better... ?

You will find answers on both sides of the fence; from purists to whatever
you wish to call the opposite.

It really depends on what blows your hair back. Why it blows your hair back
is no one's damn business. But...

Why make it an exclusive OR situation? Be diverse, unless you want to be
a purist in which case the diversity is more narrowly defined.

You can obtain good results with spun articles if you do it properly, and that
would mean doing more than simply synonym spinning. You can use them for
backlinks in different ways. Some will stick, others will not.

I would suggest getting Mark Hess' $7 WSO ebook about b/l outsourcing.

If you're gonna spin, then do it right and get 60-70% uniqueness. There are lots
of applications aside from submitting to directories. That is if you choose to
do it.

Regardless of your decision, I will not condemn or otherwise judge you for it.

How refreshing...

I agree with Andrea's comments i think most spinners dont produce great esults and still need to be edited. Im not convinced that some of the small article directories see much of the light of day - just my opinion

Spun articles to 40% are still readable and just spun enough to send to the next top article directories after the original goes to EZA. Don't bother with any more directories than that.

It depends what type of traffic you want. If all you want is the backlink, then you might as well spin them and mass submit them. However, if you are looking to gain traffic directly from the article then sticking to the top few directories and niche specific article directories will be the best.

I use The BestSpinner to spin my articles and use Magic Submitter to submit to Article Directories, Wordpress Blogs, Blogs etc. This is purely for backlinks not traffic, and I only do this on a small number of my articles.

I submit original articles to ArticleBase and Ezine Articles. These also give me backlinks but a lot of traffic as well.

In terms of spun articles, anything automated is usually crap... buy yourself a decent spinner (I use The Best Spinner), and spin in manually.

Here's my general workflow:

1. Write a 100% unique article (10-15 minutes)
2. Using TBS rewrite each sentence, and replace each word/expression with 2-3 alternatives. This will provide an article that is almost 100% unique, and READABLE if done properly. (45 minutes)
3. Submit to ezine articles, and 15 other article directly (5 minutes... I use automated software)
4. Submit to UAW (5 minutes)
5. Create 15-20 Web 2.0 properties using spun article (5 minutes, again automated)

Rinse and repeat....

I should mention that not all my backlinks point at my money sites, but rather a variety of sites that help feed link juice back to the main site.

More submissions, less time, love automation Every site needs a large volume of low quality backlinks to round out it's link profile, so spinning and automation is a fast and easy way to do this.

Cheers,
Carney

Done properly, article spinning works fine. Done improperly, it's horrible. In Post #29 of this thread you can see what I just said about spinning...

My Ezinearticle traffic has gone down by 70% in the last 24 hours

Our system, SmartSpin, generates a unique (80-90%) version of each article for each site during distribution.
