Hey all I am using social bookmarking as part of my IM strategy, but it takes a lot of time and I do not see any great results. Maybe I am doing something wrong ![]() ![]() What would you suggest the best sites is to use? How much time do you spend using social bookmarking? Are there any software for submitting that is worth the money? Thank you Werna |

You can use Bookmarking Daemon (that's the best bookmarking tool yet), it will submit your web page up to 100 social bookmarking sites. It creates accounts and submits and the work is fully automated. You have to invest some money (It costs $147) to buy the tool but you can save your time afterwords.

Bookmarking is worth your time if you automate, and I agree with faceblogger, that Bookmarking Demon is the best automated submitter available. Especially since it added a drip scheduler.

If you look in the Warriors for hire section of the forum you can find people who will do 100 bookmarks for around $8

For pure SEO value, I agree that automation is almost essential. However, don't overlook the additional passive traffic that you can gain by getting a little more involved with social bookmarking sites. For example, for every page of your site that you bookmark, also bookmark 3 or 4 other sites. If you have a group of RSS feeds that you read on a regular basis, pick a few good articles out and bookmark them along with your site. If you have to do this manually anyways, then adding a few more bookmarks won't add much extra time. |

I always found that bookmarking sites did not improve ranking.

Social bookmarking may be a tedious process but the results can be outstanding if done correctly.

SB is great to get new pages indexed and if you have a good strategy of linking thos pages to others on your site it is even better. This is another tool to build backlinks as well ( although it might not be weighted heavily ). Remember to use proper tags and you can take their effectiveness up another notch.

It's always a backlink anyway. But I suggest you to use some automatic software. There are many out there, I tested SEnuke myself and it was good for social bookmarking.

I agree - It takes a long time, but it is effective. I use this nifty little program called socialmonkee (socialmonkee.com, no affiliation). There is a free and paid version - I use the free version. I also manually submit to SU (stumble upon) which gets me really good results. |

From an SEO standpoint, I say no. I have one website that has about 54,000 backlinks. I placed just under 9000 SB backlinks for it and only about 50 were indexed according to my Google Webmasters account. Don't get me wrong, I get OK traffic from them, but as far as SEO goes, their worthless and I am talking about about 50 of the top SB services like Facebook, Twitter, Stumbleupon, etc... The sig links here are worth tons more than SB...at least that is what my data is telling me. |
