As part of my various backlink building efforts I started getting Angela's Backlink Packets each month. I have been getting them for about 6 months and have never used a single one! Yes I know, my bad. I now have two questions: 1) Are Angela's backlinks worth the effort involved? 2) Should I use the older packets I have bought, or are these now worthless? I guess I have another question about Angela's links. My initial reading up on them is that a profile link is created etc.. Is it worth actually posting stuff on the various forums that one creates profiles for? Any other tips for using Angela's backlinks? Is it worth outsourcing all this stuff? Do outsourcing teams do a good job or do they ever "cheat" somehow? Thanks, Sam |

They still work. Some of the sites have been disabled or are no longer usable though. So my advise would be to create a list of the sites that do work while you go along. |

I stopped using them about 8 months ago. I just seemed very saturated. I don't know if anything has changed or not. There are outsource companies that use these. I was a member of Lexorsoft for a long time and they will do these for you. I don't think they'd cheat you. As with any outsourcing, you have to train, get a system and do some serious checking for awhile. |

To the OP: I find that older backlink packets work just as well as they did on the day they were released. This is one of my biggest backlinking efforts and has worked great for me.

You may find your time better served by paying slightly more and having somebody else do the work for you. Not to sound like a big blue sock puppet meanie but given your progress so far, outsourcing is probably your best option. I used to do all of my backlinking myself but after the 'ol fingers started to hurt on a daily basis, I'll pay a couple of bucks to have it done while I eat chips and watch the view.

| I used Angela’s backlinks for 2 years and they helped my second website get in the third page of Google for its main keywords at that time, but then I started noticing that most of the websites she was suggesting were very far from my field, and I would be considered a spammer. I stopped using them for this reason. Not all websites are the right ones for your business and you waste your time when you open a series of websites from the package and none is the ideal one for you. I wouldn’t recommend outsourcing this service. Now, answering to your questions: 1) Are Angela's backlinks worth the effort involved? Yes, in the beginning, especially if you find many websites related to your topic. However, I wouldn’t suggest using it for long. 2) Should I use the older packets I have bought, or are these now worthless? Yes, all old packets are as useful as the new ones. However, you’ll notice that many websites won’t permit their use for understanding that there are many spammers using it to promote their links if you arrive too late to these websites, after many other people who follow Angela’s links have posted their links because the website’s topic doesn’t belong to their field. However, you may also find many interesting websites in her collection. You may become a regular visitor of some of them, therefore, you get benefits from this work, besides seeing that many of the links you posted in various websites were deleted for being considered spam. If you see that a certain website’s content is far from being related to your business, don’t waste your time posting your links there because they will be deleted. Post your links only in nice websites related to your topic, and don’t forget these websites. Be a regular visitor, and post more links there. All the best! |

Older packets can still be useful. In fact some people actually wait a few months before they use them. Here is the logic... Realistically, these forums are going to get spammed fairly quickly after the packets are released. As a response, forum owners will either delete accounts, turn the link no follow, or just disable the ability to add profile/sig links altogether. By waiting a month or two, you can actually gauge how the forum owner reacts. While you may find that some of the sites are no longer of value, the ones that are still of value will likely have a long span. On Outsourcing - if you outsource to someone who is going to just set up a profile and insert links right away, then you risk getting your profile removed. However, if you hire someone to create a profile a few posts, and then insert the links, outsourcing can be very useful. |

I would check first if these sites have changed to 'nofollow' because of all the spam links they have received.

I would say yes, they would be helpful on some level - but keep in mind that they are going to have been used by a lot of different people so the potency of the links will have diminished.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am absolutely hopeless on building backlinks. It is something we have done VERY little of ourselves. In the past we have always just relied on natural linking from visitors. Trouble is these days this can be very slow to creep up the search engines as it is so competitive. So we need to join the link race. (It just seems such a pain and not what we want to have to do....) I guess you are saying this from your experience. Can you say why you think so? What do you do instead? Thanks. Quote:

Somebody moved the thread to this section. Since that occurred there have been no more answers. Why has it been moved? The move was not appropriate in my opinion. Can you move it back to the main discussion board where it belongs? Thanks. |

This is definately an SEO discussion, it's in the right place now. While I've no experience with Angela's list in particular, I am currently outsourcing. After 10 hours of link building, I met with my guy on Skype and discussed strategy. He indicated that he thought forum profiles would be more effective than blog commenting, so I let him go at it. Three days later - a blink in the world of backlinking - I've got over 100 forum profile backlinks indexed, and my site went from #44 to #7. I highly suggest that you find someone more experienced and knowledgable when it comes to this part of the business, and hire them. I intend to have my backlinking guy manage others shortly, as soon as I can afford to get him full time. |
