Default Easy Way To Check If A Phrase Is A Buying Term- For FREE!

Not sure if someone made a post about this before, but if you have any interest in Keyword research i've found a tool recently that helps a lot.

This particular tool tells you phrases that are "buying keywords," meaning if you rank highly for that particular keyword phrase you can be safe to bet that it can bring you a decent amount of sales for whatever you are promoting, especially if it is "Targeted Traffic".

The tool requires no installation, free to use, and can be found here: Detecting Online Commercial Intention: Audience Intelligence: adCenter Labs (Not An Affiliate Link)

This tool isn't always right when comparing it to the CPC rate, as well as the amount of ads for the particular term, but it definitely is worth using.

It should be pretty clear on how to use it, but if anyone has any questions about it i'll answer them if you plan on using it.

Hope this helps!

B.Hunter

Just because you rank high for a particular keyword phrase doesn't guarantee you any sales.

I always test my theories for my students so what I did was rank one of my sites #1 for 6 months on the keyword phrase "Independent Security Research" and believe it or not, not one sale. Yes it's true not very many searches for that phrase either but you get the point.

Just being #1 on Google just means, your number one on Google.

I have used a similar tool a couple years ago pulling data from Microsoft Commercial Intent databases. It was way off! There is no substitute for your own experience.

Huh???

You realize that the tool I just posted tells you that the phrase you just stated isn't meant to bring sales? It's not a "buying keyword" and the tool states its for "Non-Commercial Intention".

I wasn't posting this thread to talk about Ranking high but to find buying keywords free, faster, and more effectively.

Edit: Also looking on the keywords tool on Adwords, it states searches and trends are nonexistent for that term, so that was a complete waste of time to try to rank for unless it had searches in the past.

Guess it really is pretty effective hehehe

Which is also why I stated the part about also paying attention to the Avg. CPC as well as number of ads for the phrase. It rarely is wrong for me and those numbers back up it's claim, but every now and then it does mess up.

Maybe you had a bad niche you tried it for? But Cyber showed one of his keywords and says he ranked #1 for it and got 0 sales, and the tool also stated that he wouldn't when I put it in.

But its fairly easy to tell what is a buying keyword and what isn't, don't you think?

Lol, I was getting ready to post a similar comment.

It's not all about ranking, its' about sales.

Interesting MSN keyword tool.

I tested a couple of my keywords

1) "keyword1 keyword2" = 0.66% non-commercial

2) "keyword1 new_keyword3 keyword2" = 0.93% commercial

This is the same tool they have had for a few years. Last time I checked the site was down.

Not sure from your test what you did.

Did you enter them all at once or one at a time?
