Good on you! Simple thing but valuable - Squidoo is still a power house 2.0 website that is worth creating and maintaining.

@youngworks, most definitely! I have used Squidoo to get #1 rankings a couple of times! I am actually thinking about promoting a Clickbank product via a lens and pushing it up the SERPS with a few different other web 2.0 websites. Just a small experiment

I am really new to Squidoo. Just figured out how to build a lens this week.

I am confused on the commenting - I commented on a lens the other day but when I hover over my name, the only thing there is my squidoo userid.

How do you get a link back to your website?

One of my Squidoo Lenses is #2 and #3 in Google for a term that gets only about 100 searches a month. Even with this tiny amount of search traffic I've made six Amazon sales in the last month.

I think I'll use your method to help me get ranked with some tougher keywords I want to go after.

That's a good question. I didn't think about that but I've noticed the same thing.

I'd like an answer to that one as well.

Squidoo comments can be stripped of html if the owner so chooses. I do.
The links in comments would be nofollow anyway.

Links on squidoo lenses can be golden, but squidoo has clamped down.
You now must ad a pic and 200 character opening paragraph or your lens
will be suspended.

You can have at most 9 links on a lens to the same domain. These
are not nofollow.

This count does not include blog and twitter feed, but those don't even
show to browsers as links anyway. The big picture module can be hyperlinked,
as well as any pic accompanying a lens.

The trick is to create a lens on a popular subject, not necessarily for your
niche.

Squidoo is cool in that they pay you and give you backlinks. Life doesn't
get any better'n that.

If one put the effort to it, you could make quite a nice chunk of change
from squidoo. My payment this month will be about $200 from Dec 2010.
(they pay 2 months later) Not bad, it adds to the bottom line, right?
This month, Feb, I have sold hundreds in amazon products alone and the
payout in April will be even bigger.

People are always asking for adsense alternatives. You could work strictly
on squidoo lenses.
