im going crazy!how to check my competito backlinks and steal them?

iv got a new site but im going crazy its not even showing up in google after 2 weeks and 50 high pr manual backlinks. I am going to continue the baclinks so what do you think about this?
one of my competitors has only 400 backlinks and he's first page in google and website less than a year old. How can i check his backlinks?Is it all about backlinkwatch,yahoo site explorer and then go through all of these 350 backlinks and find where i can comment on them,then ping and rss and then put links on another page and then ping rss etc.will this help,what do you think and whats best method to get all actual backlinks?thanks

Backlinkwatch is the best one I have found because it shows you the anchor text AND the direct link to where the backlink is.

Just use Backlinkwatch to find out where their links are being placed, try to get your links on those sites plus many other similar ones. Then write quality content on your site targeting those specific keywords. Ping your posts, continually update your content, etc....

Product-based websites rank high for keywords all the time. As long as you've got good content, have your keyword in the title tag/headers, you'll be just fine.

yeh iv done all that and infact it is better optimised than 6 of the top 10 in google.SO just to reclarify,backlinkwatch and then manually go through them and post my link on them right?

Pretty much. Do what they're doing + 1. Just make sure you don't get carried away and start getting thousands of backlinks in a short period of time. That's a no-no. I know a lot of link building services will sell packages like this, and they work........for a short period of time.

How close to page 1 are you right now and have you been steadily moving up?

check their back links in yahoo site explorer and then follow them. this is also called reverse SEO what you want to do.

#not ranking at all for the keyord at the moment,thats why i am so frustrated
