Default The Answer to Better Rankings Considering Google's New Fancy Moves

The net has been crazy with this huh? Every SEO I know is talking about these new ranking factors.

Here is the truth, based on my deep core study:

They've been doing this, it's only now starting to "buzz" around the net. Yes, they've been cracking down on dummy sites with auto generated content, they've always warned about that.

The mission: Quality

The how: Votes

The how on votes: Social Proof from Social Tools.

If high authority Tweeter (determined by followers, actual conversations with followers, retweets and activity on website from tweets.. and more) retweets your stuff, that helps you.

If you build relationships with high status people on Twitter, (which you can, you just have to cultivate it), you're golden.

If you're building high quality links from highly relevant sites, you'll always be fine.

Twitter isn't the only factor, but it weights heavily.

Yes, Facebook shares play a role. It's a surefire way to let the people vote. People are becoming MORE the determinants of your status in the search engines. Because Google can't human edit their search monster, they have to consistently implement human like algorithmic changes.

Does this mean we're all screwed? Nope. Not at all. It just means that:
  1. If you're doing low quality stuff.. the stuff you know you shouldn't be doing, they may catch on.
  2. You need to be more social.

Ultimately, the more ACTIVITY you have around you and your sites, the better you'll rank. The more people retweet and share your stuff, the better and if you're doing anything you shouldn't be doing, well, they've been telling us all along that they don't like that crap.

We're always going to figure out ways to manipulate search, that will never go away. Google will just continue to take action to emphasize quality. Remember, they want to be this ultra awesome search engine that delivers no spammy crappy results. (which is impossible)

That's my take!

Comments? What do you guys think? More specifically, do you think marketers will want to invest time in engaging the social world more?
