Default Competing against local directories (yell.com, thomson etc)???

Hey all,

In the past, I've put up local websites that review local businesses, and done well.

However, lately, I've noticed how much weight Google gives their own business directory listings, along with Yell.com, Thomson Local, Yelp and others like them.

My question is, with a ten page review blog, fully optimized with good plugins, is it possible to compete in the local market anymore?

I know you can only give a vague answer, but any local marketers who have experience in this area would be welcome to offer some general advice on this.

Cheers,

Nick
