Default Just Changed My Permalink To Custom Settings But Still Getting a Ugly URL ??

Hi Guys,

I have changed the permalink settings to Custom and entered /%postname%/ but i`m still getting a strange url when i copy it ..here it is..

h t t p : // waterdamagesite.net/flood-clean-up-%E2%80%93-important-information-to-recover-from-water-damage/

Why is the url showing this `%E2%80%93` if i`ve changed the permalink to custom ?

The site is on Thesis theme which is a GREAT theme but takes some getting used to i wonder if i need to update some other setting ?

This is the site H t t p : //waterdamagesite.net

Could anyone explain why i get the ugly url when i copy from the broswer bar ? I want to start backlinking the url but could really do with sorting this out i dont want to start backlinking the url with the `%E2%80%93` in it.

Please advise..

Thanks Jim

Go to the post or page in wp-admin and edit the URL manually right below where you do the title.

If that is the only one that this happened to then problem solved.

What happened is that you have a symbol in your title that isn't okay to use in urls, so it automatically gets changed to the code of that symbol (making sense)? If not, this is what you see when you follow the link to your site:

h t t p : // waterdamagesite.net/flood-clean-up-–-important-information-to-recover-from-water-damage/

You see what I made bold? That is what happens when you don't use a regular hyphen, usually happens when you past in text from a text or word file. Like Aaron said, you can change that for that post manually.
