I can't say yes or no, but I can tell you what I would do next to help myself make a better guess. I'd want to know if anyone else has already tried to do what I'm planning to do -- and if so, where are they sitting.

Traffic Travis shows you the top 20. Let's say your plan is to get an exact match domain name, and have a page with the keyword in your title, description and H1 tag. And you're going to have your keyword appearing elsewhere on the page too. And you're going to apply your own customary backlinking techniques.

So now, google your keyword and see if anyone has already done that. Are there exact match domains on page 3 or later? Use SEOQuake (or Yahoo Site Explorer) and see how many external backlinks there are to this competing page/site. What kind are they? Profile links, articles, posts on private blogs, etc.

In other words, my next step is to look and see if someone else has already done everything I know how to do, and failed to break into page 1. I just use Traffic Travis as the starting point for research.

im in the process of doing this,i cant buy the exact name domain as what i want to be ranked for is kindof competitive approx 600.000 competitors,see the pic for exact number. my site is better seo optimised than the opposition and im in the process of going through the second place competior who has 400 links approx and trying to steal his links and then move onto next target,hopefully this will help a bit
