Default Can't find website in broad search only phrase

Guys,

As mentioned in the title..My website dropped from page 17-19-nowhere in the past few weeks in broad search..at first i thought i got sandboxed (still not sure). i did a broad search for my keywords and go through all the pages and I'm sure it's gone. Then I did a "phrase" search and I found my website (main) only on page 13. So in your expert opinion..did i get "sandboxed"? or it's just not optimized properly and not enough backlinks. I have a few genuine single website backlinks and 1-2 backlinks that generates a few hundreds of backlinks due to 'recent comments' which i believe causes me to be kicked out of the search. FYI the domain age is 1-2 months old and I'm getting close to 1.7K of backlinks.

Regards,

Newbie Jep

According to my understanding of sandboxing you would not be found at all if it were to happen to you.

With a new site you will see fluctuations as the search engine algorythims go about deciding where you belong. Further the more natural your link juice appears to be the better it will be for your rankings on the search engines.

And finally, depending on the keyword target you are going for it may be a challenge to take top spot. I've often seen brand new sites rank well quickly and then drop in ranking after about 2 weeks which seems to fit your equation.
