Today I was browsing my hostgator account when I came across a neat site called Attracta. Its a site that has simple SEO tools for getting your site noticed by google and other search engines by giving your website a score. The score is based upon six criteria such as meta tags, and sitemaps. I went from having a lousy score of 40 to a better score of 70. The goal is to get your score up to 100, by doing things such as linking your site to facebook and twitter through attracta. IF you have a hostgator account I would suggest checking it out, especially if you are new to the whole website thing like I am. The simple SEO tools are free, and I guess there are a few monthly subscriptions and paid traffic plans as well. |

I just submitted a site, as I found it searching for a Hostgator based sitemapping tool. The site isn't showing up in Google Webmaster. Maybe it takes time. It does look like a simplified SEO system, not sure how it works for Wordpress blog sites. I'm trying it on an HTML site.

I dont like it either. you have to understand what components make up SEO. plenty of good free tools out there, but I think Market Samurai is still the best |

I'd first submit my site to dmoz.org directory. One of the oldest and most respected. It's free and has a pagerank of 8.

| Dmoz is free and also high pagerank but do you know that approving sites in Dmoz takes several years in most cases and even after this long time, maybe they don't approve your site. I think you should ignore Dmoz.
