Default rss seo help

Hi warriors,
I'm a bit confused about rss.

1. Should i use feedburner to make my rss feeds for my wordpress site and sent to rss directory? Is there a wordpress plugin to make rss easily?

2. Should i simply sent www.mysite.com/rss to rss directory? I heared that sending feedburner rss feeds to rss directory wouldn't help the link juice to your site, but feedburner.

3. Should i use links2rss or feedforall to make each feed? I want to make more rss feeds for each site. That'll be time consuming.

4. I tried link2rss, looks that it syndicates several URLS to one feed? After i convert the URLs to a XML file, what should i do next step? I can't find the rss link(www.mysite.com/rss) in the XML file.

Thank you

Your wordpress site already has an RSS feed. It should be at

yourdomain.com/feed

or you can click that little button up in the address bar and that should take you to your RSS feed.

If you have a choice, it might be better to use your site's original RSS feed to submit to the RSS directories.

Thank you Michael,

1. I saw there're 2 rss feeds in the address bar:
mysite.com/rss
mysite.com/rss/atom
Which one should i submmit to?

2. Is it possible to get the rss feeds by category for wordpress plaform?
mysite.com/rss
mysite.com/category1/rss
mysite.com/cagegory2/rss
I can't fine the category rss feeds at the address bar, do i have to use link2rss or feedforall to make the rss feeds for category?

Thank you

Wow, I don't know if it is always that way. It is that way with every one of my WP sites. No matter what combination I put in with www or without and with a closing / and without I go to my feed.

I do have feedburner on a couple of sites an d I usea redirect plugin, so then it resolves to the burned feed, but that's about the only difference I have.

I use WP on about 75 sites and it is that way on each of them.

Are you using pretty permalinks? That might make a difference.

If you are not, try this instead:

http://example.com/?feed=rss

I use the first one. You don't submit to those feeds, you take them and submit them to other places that are called feed aggregator sites. These are things like are on the list on this page:

Submit RSS Feeds to 90 RSS Feed Directories

You can make category feeds like this:

http://example.com/category/categoryname/feed

The categoryname is your slug for the category.

There are a couple of ways to form these and a few other things as well.

Some pretty good information is here:

WordPress Feeds « WordPress Codex

They have a few other formats that might work out if you need to experiment a little bit.

HOLA!

I am a fan of the Feedburner Feeds... I personally think they look better! On my Wordpress sites, I did have some RSS Feeder plugin that basically was the same thing as the standard WP packaged feed.

I've created, and publicized, Feedburner feeds for the Wordpress sites. I don't really bother with submitting those feeds to Aggregators - Feedburner does enough for me, plus I updated my ping list.

For my HTML/CSS sites (which is where my main focus is) I sometimes will make and host my own RSS Feeds, or will simply go to Links2RSS and create my feeds and manually submit to Aggregators (I don't trust RSSBot).

I do the same thing for backlinks that I really, really want to make sure get indexed! Lol! Links2RSS - create an RSS Feed 75-100 links deep and manually submit to aggregators.

Here's a couple:
blogBunch : Suggest a Site
Submit Blog
Add A Site - blogarama.com
Add Listing to DevASP Search Index
FeedAgg.com | Add RSS Feed
FeedPlex - Add URL
http://feedshark.brainbliss.com/
Add Your Blog - IceRocket
Submit Your RSS
RDF-Ticker Add a channel
RSS feed Directory - Feedage.com
Feedgy - Submit your RSS Feed to the RSS Directory
Submit your RSS Feed - PLAZOO News Search
RedTram News Search Engine | Add source
RSSMotron - RSS Directory
Read A Blog - Submit your Blog or RSS feed
Blogz - Add your blog
Atom and RSS Feed Catalog - Submit RSS Feed
Syndic8.com - Suggest Sites and Feeds
http://www.wilsdomain.com/submit-site.php
Xmeta.net - Submit Your Feed (RSS/ATOM)
Share a blog with Liquida
submit my rss feed
GoldenFeed.com - Submit your Blog or RSS feed
Feed Submission and FeedRank® Checker - RSSMicro Search

CHEERS!

I'll never submit the same feed TWICE to any one directory... Just whip up a new one with different links! (if we're talking about indexing backlinks) Which I'm not 100% sure how effective that actually is anymore... I'm right in the middle of having a program made and am going to do a balls-to-the-wall backlink indexing case study. Hopefully, get it started in about a week or two. More on that later though.

I will typically NOT submit the same feed ever to an aggregator, simply b/c I personally lost the RSS.xml link LOL! Sad I know!

It's always easy to whip up a new one though, with a new title, description, and link titles.

The list above is a list of about half and half - Manually submitted and RSSBot submitted. The last time I submitted some feeds, I submitted MANUALLY to the entire list above! Periodically an aggregator goes down, and periodically they come back up, so two or three of the above list aren't taking new feeds right now, but I included them in the list anyways.

They are just easy to submit to - Redundant really. Some require you register a login - I use the same login for ALL RSS aggregators and Social Bookmarking sites to keep things simple - And will periodically make a new one for each one (again all the same though).
