I have a website in which there are lots of section so what I did that it shows sub-sections only when you are in that section or any of its subsection. This way I have less cluttered site. But it also mean that not every section linked from every page. However, this approach as per my views looked more user friendly. But when I see sites on my similar subject shows all section on all pages and they have better ranking than me. So, should I revert to a system where every section is linked from every page ? Does this really matter ? |

What you are doing is an seo strategy without even knowing it. It is called pagerank sculpting. What is most important is that pages are user friendly, and they lead people to continue to click through your site and perform actions like register, click on an ad, post a message, or buy something. Also, changing your site around can result in a loss of rank on pages. There have been a lot of reports of this lately, so I would not recommend do a change like this unless you feel is it essential.
