I'm tired. I just worked 20 hours straight. To end my day, I decided to write a quick note on where should my focus be if I want traffic and backlinks to my blog for short term and long term traffic. Here's my list. Order of importance. Please tell me what you think, and please recommend a better way if I'm doing it wrong or if my order of importance is off. 1. ezinearticles - submit high quality here. 2. goarticles, articledash, articlebase - high quality articles here 3. DOE 4. squidoo, hubpages - put up good content 5. guest article - write high quality article for popular blogs 6. youtube videos - decent quality video 7. press release 8. high PR forum profiles, .edu links, high PR backlinks 9. blog commenting, forum posting/signature 10. mass article directory submission - using tools 11. mass video site submission - using tools 12. mass social bookmarking - using tools Did I miss anything that should be here? |

Your list is pretty good. You can build backlinks using web 2.0 properties, there are numerous sites where you get free sub-domains to publish your content and get backlinks here is a good list of Web 2.0 sites |

Well these are great methods but they're also general methods. Why not search for sites that are related to your niche and network with them? Offer them something for free, give away your products. Ask for a spot and positioned ad on their website. Look for people to network with. Find JV partners to build traffic to your site. All that can be included into your traffic methods. As for backlinks, don't worry about High PR backlinks because I have sites that dominate very competitive keywords with organized SEO and structure done to it. Ranking for Backlinks require three pre-entry steps
Also, checking their domain for at least 100k in links. That would be considered a relevant site with high link volume pointing to it, which means they have established authority, and you're establishing a link relationship with them. |

Pick the right blog for your guest post and that can far outweigh any of the others for that initial boost at least.
