after how many backlinks do you begin to get listed for your keyword

no one can calculate how exactly we need to make back links .its depend upon the keyword competition.you have to make back links until unless you site not at the top

fair enough but roughly how many based on past experience,my site is not listed at all in google at the moment

It depends on hoe strong the backlinks are. If you are getting backlinks from pagerank 0 sites you'll need thousands of them but if you are getting a nice flow from pagerank 5,6,7,8 sites you don't need many.

guys can you not give me an answer "based on past experiences" please. I got 60 backlinks pr4-pr9 profile backlink at the moment,will build some more soon and start targetting backlinks related t my niche. So help me out fellas. Also small point but I have noticed that links from actual sites carry more weight than profiles,blogs etc

you have to make at-least 600 back links for one keywords according to my past experience but its not a rocket science.The thing is if you get good page rank by back links with one keyword the rest of the keywords which is listed on you web site will also optimize automatically and your site will show on 2nd or may be 1st page of google

It depends on...

How much competition your fighting against for placement.
How natural the links you have secured were obtained.
How tightly optimized your project is both on and off page.

A free tool that you could download to monitor where you are at on Google as well as Bing, ASK, Yahoo & AltaVista is Traffic Travis. Do a Google search for it and you will be led to CNET for your free download. With it you can see where you are at on the above search engines as well as gaining ideas for what you can do to further your results on the search engines.

SEOCHIEF,I greatly appreciate your answer,let me give you some stats,`
competition is 621,000 total,12,000 monthly searches. I think this is a relatively easy/moderate niche to break into and a good first attempt thing. I have purchased many software,backlink energizer,scrapebox,backlink booster as well as backlink indexer and many other tools. I will be boosting up the backlinks starting tommorow because as of today I resigned my job to see if I can get into this SEO business. The onpage Optimization is %81 for the keyword and compared to competitors so I would say its quite high. Anything that I update on the site gets indexed with 48hours in google.
As to natural links,no links are natural if you really think about it as we are all creating links manually or using software however according to natural,here is the plan

will have made approx 1000+ pr4-pr9 forum profile links by the end of this month. These are all broad related niches and maybe 1/2 related to my niche. During this month I will also move onto blogs and master the game as how to index the links better. I will then purchase or get scrapebox to make me pr0-pr4 profiles related specifically to my niche so as to make it look more antural,it will raise a red flag if all my links are high pr and do follow.
SO if I follow everything I have said here do you think by the end of the month I will have set myself up to be ranked for my keyword in google?
I am going to make a post here,the 90 day challenge and see how far I can take this
