Default Does google penalty pass to addon domain?

My site which is ranking in the numbers between 20 - 100 positions for certain keywords on yahoo and bing is not ranking on google (it was previously ranking on google). I think it must be due to the google sandbox. My site is hosted on hostagator and i have added a new website to the same hosting plan as an addon domain. Will the google penalty pass on to the new addon domain/website? The addon domain/website is ranking in yahoo and bing on 1st page but nowhere in google. (The new site is about 3 months old)....any explanations?

Each domain is treated as a separate entity. So it shouldn't be a problem. Although new sites have trouble ranking well.

There is some evidence to indicate that if they share the same IP address they could affect one another. That is assuming you or someone else on that IP are doing mega-black hat stuff.
