I have a question about SEO with Ezine. I've read that the most powerful SEO is writing about your niche that's related to the link you are building. Is this true? Because I wanted to try a different approach for mass link building. Instead of writing and submitting articles in the niche of the link I am building, I'll write and submit articles that are HOT with this weeks viral explosion. Like if I'm trying to link build a page about laundry soap, but the hot news this week is a new XBOX widget that everyone is excited about, would it be smart to write about the XBOX widget and put in the link to the laundry soap page in the bio? Because we know there isn't going to be much viral about laundry soap.... The reason for this is, perhaps, there are 1000s of webmasters looking for free articles to post about the XBOX widget on their website or blog... so one viral article gets you 1000s of link backs.... because it's the viral explosion of the week. Hope this makes sense. |

Nice Try. The article only get posted once. How the article gets promoted (by you) gets you more links. What you are hoping for is to get a lot of views because the article is talking about something trendy, and hope the readers click on something, un trendy, or the absolute opposite of what they actually went there to read. I would look for another strategy.

Your assertion is webmasters won't publish the article on their blog, forum or website for free content? The last article I submitted to article directories got re-published by webmasters (on approx 25 blogs and websites) in less than 3 hours... And it wasn't even about anything hot or viral. I understand that many article marketers are looking for traffic and sales, my objective is backlinks. Anything else is a bonus. | |

The backlinks you will be building will be from websites with no authority in your target niche(boring laundry soap) because the articles will be on websites using automatic content such as auto blogs or maybe hand picked a few times. You should try to just build a few really strong backlinks from authorities in your niche because you will only need a few links to accomplish better results.
