Does social bookmarking and networking sites worth?

In my SEO projects and building backlinks, i am using social bookmarking sites like: digg, delicious, reddit, stumbleupon. I am bookmarking every page of my site to these sites, but while analyzing backlinks, i dont see any links from these bookmarking sites. The links created there is dofollow but why google doesn't detect and count these links? Am i doing any wrong or is my procedure incorrect? Can you suggest me guys?
I am getting backlinks from ezines, and forums but not them and one more question, is squiddo lenses and hubpages are worth for building quality backlinks?

They are worth as good referring sites. Helpful in terms of backlinks if they are do follow.

same question i have when i firstly start doing social bookmarking..
no backlinks at all! but when someone search for a keyword..and these sites wi;; ranked high in google with no effort..so it is worth your time!

Try taking all of the URLs and Pinging them.

Also you should submit them to RSS feeds and RSS aggregators (such as links2rss.com)

THat should help you get indexed.

Actually social bookmarking sites are not for getting backlinks in my case it is a good source of traffic if done well, try to build a network invite friends and people that may interested with your site then boost your traffic and visit.

Bookmarking makes the site very popular and do help in getting traffic but at the same time, social bookmarking works on those keywords that are lying below. I do heard that, bookmarking if done properly boosts the position of site in SERPS and help in getting traffic.

Some sites don't show the links created unless the user is logged in. The key word here is SOCIAL bookmarking, if you have no followers on some of these sites, nobody will ever see these links, including the search engines.

Thank you for this reply. I guess, that might be the problem. I haven't promoted any bookmarks over there. Just bookmarked the new page and forget about it.

I think you are on the right way just need to add some more way like article submission, I think anchor texts are good quality backlinks is very efficient to draw traffics and they are long lasting.

You wont have to do this for digg or delicious for example, but some of ther other ones are more "social" in that you need followers, or having more followers will increase the traffic (maybe like stumbleupon)

I would say that Social Bookmarking works two ways. First, you can get real traffic with the backlinks when they are used for long tail keywords and appear high in the SERPs and when they are placed on high authority sites like digg etc and they are good concerning getting high authority backlinks for your pages.

When I point 20-30 social bookmarks on my new pages they normally get indexed overnight.

Many people dont realize that their backlink might be dofollow but it actually is a redirect link. you dont get a backlink from redirects.

Most bookmarking sites today use redirect therefore making bookmarking sites useless in terms of gaining backlinks and the remaining are nofollow.

We dont use bookmarking for SERP boost. We use it to gain traffic for our clients. We have clients that prefer traffic from bookmarking sites but only from those sites like Digg.

Also its important to mention that sites like digg can easily get 1st page for low competitor keywords.
