I guess most forums only let you link in your signature. Should I just avoid putting a link in a signature of a forum post if the forum is not related at all to my niche. (even though I participate in the forum regularly?) As in, would google think it strange if I had a signature link pointing to my site of (fake example) a laptop site, posted at a high traffic vitamin supplement forum? There's just so many places to put links...but sometimes...the high traffic forums are just way outside the niche being promoted. I'm tempted...but should avoid it...is that right? |

Personally, I would look what others are doing first. If a site allows links in signatures, see what type of signatures show up. Some allow it, but frown on promotion. If it is promotion via signatures is rampant, then follow the crown. People that take vitamins use laptops too. |

No. Google would not see it as strange link. But why would you do that? Why would you put your furniture site in a porn site? Nobody will get interested for sure unless of course you are selling a sex chair.
