1 backlink turns into 176 backlinks

I posted a blog comment on a site yesterday with the achor text pointing back to a page on my site. When I checked my backlinks for that page that one comment had given 176 backlinks from the site I commented on. How did this happen and do the SE's see this kind of activity as Black Hat?

Don't worry about it, It's happened to me a few times. It's usually some kind of "most recent comments" widget posted on each page that duplicates your post over.
I consider it somewhat of a good thing actually - alot more links for the price of one

It is internal links from the blog you have posted, normally there are many things can cause this and the most obvious is the most recent comments, sometimes you get to stay on some quality page as well.

did you check it with google webmaster tools? it happened, i've used to watch errors with BL's quantity to my site

Realistically it's counted as '1' backlink just like you said. When a blog has content pages inner linking together, you can get links following to your main link and it will show the other pages of a domain linking to yours.

For Example, I setup my link on the home page of a domain name, and that domain name has 1,300 pages indexed by google and I'm getting links pointing to my site from all those inner pages because of the way they setup their site.

It can work in your favor. Nothing to worry about. Keep building backlinks!

Don't worry, that was only a normal thing that usually happen when you are giving some comments.
