Backlinks not turning up in Webmaster Tools?

So I've been checking Google Webmaster Tools for the site I'm working on. But apparently very few of the backlinks I should have generated through article submissions are turning up--no reported links from ezinesarticles and the like. I've already gone through the motions of social bookmarking etc, but so far, no go. Is it time to worry or...?

I dont worry about it, I just keep linking it normally takes up to a month any way for them to show but even then not all will show so just keep at it and dont worry too much about trying to see them.

Best tool to see is Yahoo site explorer but I think they are all crap and not accurate the most important thing is is your site moving up.

Give it time Patience is the key with SEO

Nothing to worry about at all. Just continue building backlinks, be consistent and watch your rankings move.

Thanks! I was somewhat antsy because Google's starting to crack down on what they think are "content farms," so yeah.

Webmaster Tools will NEVER display the full amount of backlinks that you have. In fact, the company has almost so much as indirectly acknowledged that they choose not to display the full backlink count for their own reasons - but you can be sure that they've found them, as they're obviously better crawlers than Yahoo and other sources that might display backlinks that your Webmaster Tools doesn't. As others have said, everything is more likely to show up in Yahoo. Rely on tools like the Yahoo site explorer, Market Samurai (which displays this via its rank checker), or backlinkwatch.com.
