Ping.fm question - pinging articles the right way?

Hello!

I am planning on "pinging" all my articles. I have spent the whole afternoon setting up ping.fm accounts (I should have outsourced this to fiverr)

Now using ping.fm dashboard, I have ping the first article as "Blogs" so that I get the Blog Title option.

Sorry for asking a silly question, but using that option, I have realised that the article was only posted to a few of the accounts?

Can anyone throw some light on this?

pingFM doesn't actually ping anything. It's a deceptive name.

You probably already figured this out, pingFM is just a convenient way to post content to multiple sites at once.

Pinging a site is something entirely different.

It's essentially an electronic poke to get another site to send it's bots to crawl your site. When you ping, you're not actually posting any content, you're just telling other sites Hey, I have new stuff! Think of it like the old game Pong.

Thanks for your quick reply. I actually want to post my articles to multiple sites at once. I just wonder why the article was only distributed to a few sites and not all of them.
