Hi Guys I was thinking about getting into the world fo warcraft guides niche. But I looked up world of warcraft guides in googles keyword tools and it shows 90,500 searches board match and only 1000 exact match which is around 40 a day. And even if you where ranked one you would only get around 45% of the clicks anyway. And the Term World of Warcraft Guides has over 3,900,000 competitors. Is this a super competitive keyword with not enough search volume? Please let me know what you think? Thanks Isaac |

In my opinion, the search volume is a bit on the low side for that many competitors. That being said, you could rank in the top 10 with the right approach. Also, you may end up hitting on a keyword you didn't intend on which could be worked on to gain a better ranking. Is the commission worth building a site for with that kind of search volume is the next question I would ask myself. |

Create a highly themed article for the keyword. In other words, an article that covers the topic in depth (think at least 700 words or as much as it takes to cover the topic). This will give you some traffic from other relevant keywords as well. You can then research those keywords and improve rankings for those as well. |

Almost all webpages on page #1 are doing intensive backlinks building. So, in my opinion, it doesn't seem to be that optimistic to outrank webpages on page #1 at least in short period of time. Plus, the return search results in quotes is as high as 1,400,000. That means people are heavily optimizing this keyword phrase for search engines ranking. Having considered the relatively lower search volume, the KEI (keyword effectiveness Index) is not that high... In my opinion, It might not be a profitable keyword phrase that can be worthwhile. It might not be worth the time and effort. Cheers, George

Agreed George. I don't know what KW tool you were using (but I suspect Market Samaria) but my quick look at it using Traffic Travis comes up with the same result, broadly speaking. Isaac, grab a free copy of one of these tools - you will get the info you need AND learn a lot from the results at the same time.

Hi Allan...To tell the truth, I did the competition analysis manually by checking from Google keyword tool and using Seoquake. ![]() I agree with you. I use Traffic Travis sometimes...It's a pretty great tool... |
