What's Lowest Number of Monthly Searches You would go for?

^Question in title - Assuming the keyword is rather specific to a problem/product/etc and thus can definitely be marketed.

It depends on the Cost Per Click but I would say absolute low at 500 exacts

psh... I go for some with just 320. Why not? Low competition for me, just add a random page on a site, with some info, on page optimization and it ranks.

even keyword with no searches (according GKT) can bring you decent traffic, so i don't really care about it

The Google keyword tool is so innaccurate, but hey, its all we have got to go on. If it is a buying keyword I would go as low as anything - 10 searches a month, 5 might be buyers! Most of your traffic will be from unplanned, one-off serches that you could never even anticipate. On that basis, just go for sensible gut-feel on keywords that are related to your topic, and take the beneifit of broad, long tail, one off searches that land on your page. make sure the content is quality, of decent length and includes related terms.

I think it depends on if you are talking about building a whole new site or just adding another page targeting a different keyword to an already existing site. If you already have a niche site then it's no big deal to add another page and throw a few links at it. It's more work and needs to be more worthwhile IMO to set up a whole new site so the KW needs to bring me more traffic.

For me it depends on the CPC and whether or not the keyword is product-related (a 'buyer' keyword). But I've targeted keywords that have no more than a few hundred monthly searches that have decent Adsense earnings.

Depends on if it's for a product or Adsense, and if it is for Adsense it depends on the CPC.

If it is for Adsense I'd shoot a little higher then most of the search amount that's often recommended. Here's why, the CPC you're calculating it from is for the search network, but the clicks you get are from the content network (usually much lower CPC).
